When I listen to songs, I sometimes 'see' them, too, especially if it's a song with a storyline and/or based on factual history - My favorite kinds!
So, I've started drawing animatics (storyboard illustrations coupled with a soundtrack) which are commonly used in film studios when producers need to visualize a scene before it's animated/shot. I've found that drawing the artwork is easy - It's properly timing the frames that's hard! In the making of an animatic, I'll probably listen to the same five seconds over and over... and over. And over. I end up knowing the entire song by heart when I'm done!
